Swimming, chess and table tennis at SELL Games
In addition to previously described SELL Games sports, there are lastly swimming, chess and table tennis.
Swimming is an individual or team sport that takes place in pools or open waters. There are 30 men and 22 women participants In different styles of swimming. There are competitors from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia universities.
Swimming competitions take place at Tartu Aura waterpark on Saturday 19.05 at 15.00-19.00 and Sunday at 11.00-15.00
Chess is a two-player strategy board game played on a chessboard. The objective is to checkmate the opponent’s king by placing it under an inescapable threat capture. There are 12 men and 7 women participants at SELL Games from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and also form China. China participants will be especially strong.
Chess games will be played at Ministry of Education and Research on Friday 18.05 at 10.00-18.00 takes place 1-5 rounds and Saturday 19.05 at 10.00-18.00 takes place 6-8 rounds.
Table tennis, also known as ping-pong is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweigh ball back and forth across a table using small bats. The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Table tennis is also in Olympics. On single plays and double plays there will be 26 men and 22 women players at SELL Games. Participants are from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Finland and strongest players from China.
Everyone are welcome to cheer for table tennis games at Turu sports hall on Friday 18.05 at 10.00-13.00 single plays and 15.00-18.00 double plays. On Saturday 19.05 at 10.00-13.00 single plays and its finals and 15.00-18.00 and its finals.
